Punta Gorda Pool with Raised Spa, Travertine Deck and Artificial Turf

Completed in February 2026, this Punta Gorda project combines a 13 foot by 30 foot 6 inch pool with a 6 foot interior diameter spa raised 18 inches. The 29 foot 6 inch by 43 foot 6 inch deck area uses Ivory Travertine alongside a dedicated artificial turf section, while a White Diamonds PebbleTec finish and sun shelf keep the pool itself bright and inviting.

The design is intentionally straightforward. Instead of building the backyard around multiple water features, it uses a raised spa, a clean rectangular pool, natural stone, and a contrasting turf area to create a comfortable outdoor space with distinct places to swim, relax, and gather.

Balancing Water, Deck and Green Space

The 13 foot width keeps the pool efficient within the overall deck footprint, while the 30 foot 6 inch length provides a strong visual line through the backyard. The 6 foot spa is raised enough to create a focal point without dominating the pool.

The artificial turf area is an important part of the layout because it breaks up the hardscape. Rather than surrounding the entire pool with one continuous surface, the design introduces a softer visual zone next to the Ivory Travertine.

That balance gives the backyard more variety without adding another architectural feature. The pool remains the center of the space, but the surrounding deck feels more like an outdoor living area than a perimeter walkway.

Materials and Features

Ivory Travertine: Ivory Travertine creates a light natural stone surface around the pool and gives the deck a refined appearance without requiring a busy pattern or strong color.

Artificial turf: The turf area introduces contrast in texture and color and helps visually separate part of the outdoor living space from the main pool deck.

Raised spa: The 6 foot interior diameter spa sits 18 inches above the pool, establishing a clear focal point and adding a modest change in elevation.

White Diamonds PebbleTec: White Diamonds provides a bright interior finish that pairs naturally with the lighter travertine and keeps the water color crisp.

Sun shelf: The sun shelf creates a shallow zone for lounging and gives the pool another everyday use beyond swimming.

The Finished Punta Gorda Pool

The finished project feels calm because the design relies on a limited number of elements and gives each one enough space. The raised spa defines the water feature, the travertine provides continuity, and the turf softens the surrounding hardscape.

The pool dimensions also leave meaningful deck area around the water. That is important in a project like this because the backyard needs to function when people are both in and out of the pool.

For Sunset Pools, this project is a good example of how a clean layout and a few well chosen material changes can create a custom result without overcomplicating the backyard.

Planning a Pool in Punta Gorda

Punta Gorda pool projects vary considerably by neighborhood, lot shape, enclosure needs, and how much of the backyard should be dedicated to water versus outdoor living space. Establishing those priorities early helps determine the right pool dimensions and deck footprint.

We can develop the pool, spa, deck, and surrounding features together so the finished space is proportioned around the property rather than around a standard pool package.

Getting the deck right is one of the most important early decisions in any pool project, and it is one we take seriously. If you are planning a pool in Punta Gorda, call us at (239) 772 – 7665 and we will help you lay out a backyard that works when people are in and out of the water.
