If you’re looking for some fun, family-friendly games this holiday season then you’re in luck! Here are our 4 favorite classic pool games for the whole family:

1. MARCO POLO

Marco Polo is pretty much like the holy grail of swimming pool games. Take it up a notch by having the person who is “it” yell “DOLPHIN” and the rest of the kids answer back with porpoise impressions. You’re sure to get a good laugh!

2. PEARL DIVING

Pearl Diving is awesome and can be played in a variety of different ways, depending on your creativity and the age group who is participating. You can either purchase a pearl diving kit or use any water-safe item you have at home – you’ll need at least 6 “pearls”.

Throw the pearls into the pool, wait for them to sink and then have the participants dive! The diver that comes back with the blue (or whatever color you designate as the winner) pearl wins!

3. PIRATES!

Playing Pirates! is like playing Cops and Robbers, except in the pool!

To play, you’ll need an odd number of diving sticks, or anything that’s pool safe and can sink to the bottom. Place the players, er, I mean pirates at each end of the pool and sink the “buried treasure” in the middle – the first pirate back to their side with the majority of the treasure wins!

4. H-O-R-S-E

Last, but certainly not least, is H-O-R-S-E.

To play, divide the group into teams and shoot a pool-friendly ball into a basket. Each time a shot is made and missed, the team gets to cross out one letter in the word and the first team that crosses out all of the letters loses!

The best part of this game is that it can be played in so many different ways; yet it still remains just as effective and fun. Want to make it harder? Try F-I-S-H!
