Party Theme

You don’t need to go overboard and buy a ton of decorations. Pool party themes can be a simple way to add a fun memory to your Memorial Day. Do something simple to celebrate the beginning of summer.  Visit your local dollar store or Party City and find something to get people excited. Some of the best pool-related themes are Hawaiian luau, Fiesta, or Beach Party.

Have a Luau Theme party!

Send a Invitation

Create a pool party event on Facebook and share all the necessary party information. This is a easy and convenient way to communicate with all party guests. Not sure how to create a event? Follow this “How-To” guide here and soon all your party guests will be RSVPing.  If you are a creative type, check out Paperless Post, where you can design custom cards and invitations that can be sent online or on paper. Great designs for any occasion. See the top summer designs below:

Plan Your Menu

Fire up the grill and get cooking. Ask your party guest if there are any food allergies, avoid the most common, peanuts, milk, eggs and wheat. The easiest way to sure all party guests are happy would be to set up a buffet. We suggest setting up a Taco Bar. Provide two main meat options, chicken or beef with a variety of veggies, rice, beans, and of course, guacamole. To avoid any gluten allergies, you can offer flour and corn tortillas. Don’t forget about chips and salsa either.

Drinks for You and Your Kids

Your pool party will not be complete unless you have cold refreshing drinks. To make things easy, encourage your party guest to BYOB. Get your coolers ready with ice and they’ll take care of the rest. If your friends are bringing beer, offer a refreshing cocktail. Nothing goes better with Mexican food than a lime margarita. You can even make the margaritas beforehand and leave them in the freezer in Tupperware until party guests arrive. Follow this simple recipe. Don’t forget about the kids! To keep them happy and hydrated, buy a variety of Gatorade and water.

Create a Summer Swimming Playlist

Complete your party with a music playlist. Use Spotify to create your own Memorial Day playlist or use sites like Pandora to stream music based on your favorite artist. One of our favorite music streaming sites is Songza, a free platform to select a themed playlist for any situation. You can’t go wrong as long as everyone is singing and dancing to the beat.
