Heritage Landing Pool with Tiered Spa Spillway and Custom Mosaics
Completed in February 2026 in the Heritage Landing community of Punta Gorda, this project combines a 14 foot 6 inch by 29 foot pool with a 6 foot interior diameter spa raised 12 inches. A 2 foot wide tiered spillway connects the spa to the pool, while Ocean Blue marble, glass tile, White Diamonds Pebble Sheen, and custom seahorse and shadow turtle mosaics make the finish details especially personal.
The backyard also includes a 20 by 40 foot deck and cage with a 30 foot picture window and no chair rails. That open enclosure helps the pool feel visually connected to the area beyond the screen and gives the custom details inside the water a cleaner setting.
Keeping the View Open While Adding Detail
The pool itself is compact enough to fit comfortably within the 20 by 40 foot deck and cage area, but the project does not feel small. One reason is the enclosure. A 30 foot picture window creates a broad uninterrupted sightline, and eliminating chair rails reduces another visual line across the view.
The spa is raised 12 inches rather than substantially higher, which gives it definition while keeping the overall profile relatively low. The 2 foot tiered spillway becomes the transition between spa and pool and adds movement without requiring a large raised wall.
This lower profile allows the more detailed finish work, especially the glass tile and mosaics, to become part of the experience without competing with a large architectural feature.
Materials and Features
Ocean Blue leathered marble: Ocean Blue marble with a leathered texture creates a natural stone deck with visible character while remaining neutral enough to complement the pool’s brighter interior.
White Diamonds Pebble Sheen: White Diamonds Pebble Sheen keeps the pool and spa interior light and provides a clean backdrop for the custom mosaics.
Tiered spa spillway: The 2 foot wide tiered spillway gives water a defined path from the raised spa into the pool and turns the connection between the two bodies of water into a design feature.
Glass tile detailing: Glass tile is used throughout the pool and spa, including the edge of the sun shelf and the step edges. Those repeated details help visually tie the shallow areas, steps, spa, and waterline together.
Custom mosaics: Seahorse mosaics were placed in the spa and shadow turtle mosaics in the pool, giving the finished project a personal detail that is visible from both inside and outside the water.
Picture window enclosure: The 30 foot picture window and chair rail free enclosure preserve a broad view and keep the screen structure from visually competing with the pool.
The Finished Heritage Landing Pool
This project stands out because the customization happens at several scales. From a distance, the picture window, marble deck, and raised spa define the overall backyard. Up close, the glass tile edges and mosaics give the pool details that are specific to this project.
The tiered spillway provides just enough motion between the spa and pool, while the lighter White Diamonds finish keeps the custom mosaics visible without making the interior feel busy.
