Cape Coral Pool with Dual Sunshelves and Raised Spa

Completed in 2025, this Cape Coral project features a 16 by 35 foot pool with a 10 by 6 foot interior spa raised 18 inches. Two sun shelves, two sets of steps, Pentair ColorVision bubblers, two deck jets, White Diamonds PebbleTec, Tremron Stonehurst pavers in Sierra, and beige handrails create a pool designed around multiple ways to enter, relax, and use the water.

The unusual part of the layout is the repetition. Rather than one sun shelf and one primary set of steps, the pool includes two of each. That creates more than one comfortable transition into the water and makes the pool feel balanced from both ends.

Designing for Access and Everyday Use

At 16 feet wide and 35 feet long, the pool has enough length to maintain open swimming space even with two shallow shelf areas. The dual entry points also make the pool more flexible when several people are using the backyard at the same time.

The 10 by 6 foot spa is wider than a traditional circular spa and is raised 18 inches to give it a clear presence along the pool. Its rectangular form works with the straight pool geometry and keeps the overall layout cohesive.

Because the pool already includes multiple shallow areas and entry points, the additional water features were kept simple. Two deck jets and ColorVision bubblers provide movement without placing a large architectural wall or column along the pool edge.

Materials and Features

Dual sun shelves: Two sun shelves provide separate shallow water areas for lounging and create visual balance within the 35 foot pool length.

Two sets of steps: Two entry points make the pool easier to approach from different parts of the deck and reduce the need for everyone to use one concentrated access point.

Raised rectangular spa: The 10 by 6 foot interior spa sits 18 inches above the pool and follows the same straight line geometry as the main pool.

ColorVision bubblers: Pentair ColorVision bubblers bring movement and lighting to the sun shelves, giving the shallow areas a stronger identity within the design.

Deck jets: Two deck jets add arcs of water across the pool and can be used when the homeowners want more sound and movement.

White Diamonds PebbleTec: White Diamonds keeps the interior bright and works well with the warm Sierra tones in the deck pavers.

Stonehurst pavers and handrails: Tremron Stonehurst pavers in Sierra create the surrounding deck, while beige handrails provide a functional detail that coordinates with the warmer hardscape tones.

The Finished Cape Coral Pool

The finished project feels balanced because the repeated shelves, steps, and water features are distributed across the pool rather than concentrated in one area. That symmetry supports the long rectangular shape and gives the backyard multiple places to gather around the water.

The raised spa provides the strongest vertical element, while the deck jets and bubblers keep the rest of the pool visually active at a lower level. White Diamonds and the Sierra pavers maintain a light, warm palette throughout the project.

For us, the project is a good example of designing around how a pool will actually be used. Access, shallow lounging areas, spa seating, and open swimming space were all given a place within one clean footprint.

Planning a Pool in Cape Coral

Cape Coral backyards vary in width, depth, orientation, and the amount of deck space available around the home. Establishing how the pool should be entered and used is an important part of determining where shelves, steps, and a spa should be placed.

We design those elements together so the finished pool functions naturally from the surrounding lanai and deck rather than simply fitting within the available rectangle.

The best pools are designed around how a family actually uses them. If you want to think through entries, shelves, and gathering spots before anything is drawn, call us at (239) 772 – 7665 and we will design a Cape Coral pool around the way you live.
